Song of Impermanence features my friend, Taro MURA,  who is a professional shakuhachi maker.  He knew I was planning to shoot reference images of him, so he brought along one of his most beautiful  creations, made of susudake (bamboo harvested from above he stove of a several hundred year old traditional Japanese house). Shown here among the new, living bamboo, he breathes life into one of its ancestors.
