I met Salvador Dali as a child and I have been painting 50 years and I am a fifth generation artist (father, grandfather, great grandfather: Alfred Worsley Holdstock, worked in pastels creating landscapes of Canada, and native settlements). “Beethoven’s Funfte” represents Beethoven’s Fifth symphony (the cat, a Maincoon, represents Beethoven himself, and his look of determination). The fabric the cat sets on is antique needlework from Poland.
