“Flock”   John Kotos   2021    24×48”     Acrylic paint, hardened brushes, scraper, and canvas

For this piece, I chose bright colors and different techniques (splatter, layering, etc.) in order to pay tribute to the beautiful birds of Florida and my paintings are inspired by the natural environment in Florida as well as the works of abstract expressionist painters, including Rothko, Kooning, and Pollock. So far in 2021, I have sold 18 paintings priced from $550 – $1,080 depending on size and have been featured in several online exhibitions.
