Present time Mecca is suffering from over modernization and has become a concrete forest whereas the year 1887 Mecca buildings reflected history from ancient times until the Ottoman era. The painting is sourced from the oldest available photograph and took 92 sessions over 5-months.  Using the smoothness and the fluidity of the oil painting I was able to generate a feeling of depth and infinity, trying to perpetuate the magnificent tradition of classic art; the art that links the present to the past and invokes in us a sense of mystery and splendor.
