It is time to expand these online competitions to TV or cable as annual award shows. Now obviously Koons and other top artists won’t enter these awards because they are too successful to compete and could not bear taking 2nd place, in the same way Barbra Streisand wouldn’t enter American Idol. My art shows are more about showcasing brilliant undiscovered talent, often from impoverished countries. We give these deserving artists the best press of their lives and they are so grateful. However, expanding to TV / cable, we need to increase the production values and add excitement by remotely seeing and hearing the gallery judges debate which works are best, as well as remotely seeing and hearing the passionate and hopeful artists.
